Is there a Garrigileary town city in Ireland?

I received an e-mail that said on page 420 of Irish and Anglo-

Irish Landed Gentry Garrigileary Phillip Keating can be found.

  1. There might still be a village or townland of this name, but I don't think there is a town of that name. There certainly isn't a city.


  2. i'm not sure, but check out www.mytown.ie - it seems to have a full list of towns in Ireland

  3. There is    Glenageary    in South County Dublin it is a District outside    Dunleary/Dunlaoghaire Fomerly Kingstown     before you come to Dalky. The People that live Here were very Angliscised at one Time and it is a fairly Well off Area Still. There is a few working Class Areas but the Majority is well Heeled.

I wonder if the reference you got was from this page (first site below) where it sites Robert Prendergast from Garrigileary  followed by Philip Keating from Rathmore.  It seems to be a reference to people transplanted from Co. Tipperary.  You might also be interested in the second site on records for Co. Tipperary if you are doing some genealogical research.
