However, in 2008, Atlanta g*y Pride will take place in early July over Independence Day Weekend (July 4-6). It's also a different venue this year, the Atlanta Civic Center. Pride normally takes place in Piedmont Park, but because of the severe drought that has plagued Georgia over the past two years, the city is not permitting large events in Atlanta parks.
