Is there a German slang for "No?

I know in German, nein means no. However, I have heard some German speakers say something for no that sounds like "knee". Is this an entirely different word, or another way to pronounce nein?

    "nie" means 'never'

  5. Colloquial ways to say "nein" include nöö (sounds like nuuuuh) and nee (naay).
