Is there a Java API for MSN/Windows Live Messenger.?

I would like to create an application for use on my mobile phone, which supports Java applications. I was wondering if Microsoft had released an API so that i could create an application that would work with MSN.

Microsoft is very closed when it comes to integrating custom applications with their tools.

You're best bet is to look for open source / third party API's to provide the integration point. I don't know of one for Messenger
