I am looking to run an equivalent version of Fruity Loops and also Cakewalk on my Ubuntu Linux OS. Is there such a thing? If not, what are some decent audio mixing / recording programs for Ubuntu Linux?

  1. im not sure if there are, but it is possible to run the windows application on linux Ubuntu, with the use of a program called wine, try searching for it in the add or remove programs menu ;) i use it to run some windows software without problems :) hope this helped.

  2. We've got lots of mixing programs, but I don't know of any that come with pre-recorded sounds (real artists don't need them anyway.)

    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

    http://traverso-daw.org/

  3. Try to use KMix, this is an open source KDE sound mixer that are usually a default package in Linux distros such as Fedora Core 8 (Werewolf). Never tried to use it.
