  1. Actually there are a wide variety of non-WM phones that support viewing/editing office documents--including Excel spreadsheets.

Samsung provides document viewer with some of its feature phones, such as the D900, D510, among many others.

If you need editing capabilities, you might wanna go the Symbian route. There are some Symbian UIQ-based smartphones, such as the Sony Ericsson M600, P990, and P1i that come bundled with full-blown office software--the QuickOffice.

Still on the Symbian side of the boat, Nokia also offers lots of smartphones touting office document handling capabilities--also through the rather prominent QuickOffice, albeit some of them come bundled with read-only version of the application, you'll have to purchase the full version separately should you need editing capabilities. Most E-series Nokias are bundled with full version of QuickOffice that allows you to view, edit and create office documents.
