Question:

Is there a PECS schedule computer program?

We have a PECS board setup in my home for scheduling. My oldest son has begun using a computer. What I'm wondering is if there is a computer program somewhere that could act as his PECS schedule as well? This would be acting to reinforce our already placed PECS schedule. So not only does he get to take his PECS picture down, but he will also be able to physically see how much time is remaining. He has trouble with transitions since he doesn't clearly understand time in hours, minutes or seconds.

  1. Most people use a program called Board Maker by Edmark.  It is an expensive program.  You can create these on your own using he table maker on you Word processing program.  The do a google image search to find pictures of items needed.  Contact your local school and ask for the number to the Educational Service Center, then ask to speak to the technical support division.  They should be able to offer you assistance.

  2. Boardmaker mentioned above is a great program and very comprehensive, but as mentioned expensive.

There is an online program on this site

called make a schedule not as comprehensive, but still a great program and more affordable in the short run... it is an annual fee so if you need something "forever" boardmaker would be the better investment.
