it will be better if there is a Bank of the Philippine Island branch there?

...there is none.  but bank-to-bank transfer is as easy as a-b-c.  the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) in cooperation with its government, is an on-going project aimed at universal access to banking and reduce cash usage through an interoperable m-banking system and a nationwide agent network.  this project is being joined by the World Bank under the CGAP (of which the philippines is also a member).

...the trend now is branchless banking.
