Im' having problems with the post office (ie: misdirected mail and lost packages). I've written to the local postmaster, but I keep getting blown off. I would like to take it to the next level.

  1. I would suggest seeking legal consel. As far to my knowledge, and searchs on the internet, there is no US post office watchdog group.

I hope your problem gets resolved though.

  2. Postmaster General

  3. I don't think so...

    Asher Heimermann, WI

  4. Good luck to you. I have had problems as well. They were all different, from lost mail, to problems with certified mail, to temporary forwarding and then stopping the forwarding.  I swear, it is something out of Saturday Night Live skit, only it isn't funny. Every answer I get from them is, " this is our procedure as required by the Department of Homeland Security".  h**l, the people at the counter aren't even American and I am having to debate with them that ALL I WANT IS MY MAIL.  The local Postmaster General, also not from this country, told me that they "have to take precautions to prevent terrorism".  I told them I didn't want my mail anymore and that I would do everything online. The PG said, "oh you can't do that we have to deliver your mail". I said I don't want it because my Personal Homeland Security tells me the USPS is full of terrorists."

  5. You could try a couple of things:

    1) The Postmaster's boss is a POOM (post office operations manager) located at the district hub.  Ask one of the window clerks where the district office is and give them a call.

    2) Email Washington DC.  There is a tiny "Contact us" link at the very bottom of USPS.com

    3) There are also links there for the Postal inspectors and the Office of the Inspector General.

  6. Just the beginning of what is to come.

Here I go in to mail something the guy looks at it and then says do you want to send it special.  I say no and fine I pay the postage and the mail goes in the trash.  If I say yes then it will be sent but not special.

One way or the other he is going to get his extra pay.

This is fact.  No it is not in the USA or EU.

  7. The next level would be the Postal Inspector's office.
