I have a 3 month old and I have tried about 3-4 tubs already ! Maybe it's me or my baby but bathing time is a hectic time. If my baby is not slipping around everywhere, water is getting everywhere. Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

  1. does he sit up or hold own head up?!?! if so dont use a bath tub use the ring it sticks right to the tub that way he cant fall in mine does the same thing

  2. The only baby tub I ever liked was the kitchen sink. LOL!!  I put a towel at the bottom of the sink and up the sides and held the baby under the arm and head.  Get in, get out, and its done.  Dont waste money on any more tubs.  Use your sink.  Just clean the sink out first of course.

  3. I had a bathtub that I used in the kitchen sink for the first month.  Once my daughter got to be 3 months old, she grew out of the bathtub.  I gave her baths in the kitchen sink, and at 7 months old I started to give her baths in the tub cause she sits on her own, I just have one of those mats on the bottom of the tub that makes it so you dont slip.

  4. I would use doubled over towels and just do wipe downs whenever you can... a 3 month old doesn't usually get that dirty except under the chin and diaper area.  Just use a little soap where needed and lots of plain rinse water.  It is better for their skin not to do too much bathing anyway at that age.

Other wise, I found a small inflatable tub inside my tub worked really well.  Even in my mom's jacuzzi tub, which is bigger and deeper, it worked well.  You can deflate it to save space, or just store it in the tub.  You could even use it in the floor of a shower, just put some water in ahead so that the spray isn't scary.

If this is your first baby, my advice is this:  Relax, trust that you are doing well to be a good mom, know that your baby will not ever suffer in life from bad bathing as a 3 mo old.  Be okay with making a mess to have a good bonding time with the baby.  Keeping baby safe and secure is what is important.

I even took my little ones in the shower with me from time to time, and just let the water run on me and used a washcloth to rinse them... but you really need a second person to take the wet slippery baby from you so that you can finish your own shower.

Babies need warmth, love, food and little else.... but a contented mom!

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too."  2 Corinthians 1:3

  5. I used the Fisher Price Aquarium Bath seat from birth until 3 mos with the mesh net attached, and from 3-6 months without the net attached. Once my son was old enough to sit up I used the Munchkin Duck Bathtub, which he LOVED because its shaped like a duck and when you squeeze the beak it quacks. I used that until he was about 10 months because he out grew it. Now I use the Safety First Tub Seat that attaches to the side of the tub. As long as you keep the baby tub in the bathtub and don't overfill it there should be no mess.

  6. try the baby mesh seat in the normal tub. it works great for me. i have used it since my baby was born and she is nine months now.

you can find it at walmart and it is only like 9 bucks
