Question:

Is there a better search engine for entry level mechanical engineers?

As a graduate with a BSME, I worked 1 year as a mechanical engineer then returned to a family business. I keep hearing about there being a shortage of engineers, but all I see are jobs that require 3-5 years of very specific experience on up. Is there really a shortage? Does anyone have any advice!

  1. I certainly hope not. I'm a ME too. Where did you start working the 1st time? I'm working in fossil generation right now. Maybe you should check it out.

  2. Don't let 3-5 years language stop you from submitting your resume.

Go back to your Alma mater and contact the career center, they generally offer services to alumni at no or minimal costs.

Try also monster.com, careerbuilder.com, asme.org.  If you are not a member of ASME, consider joining or at least contact your local chapter.  Many local chapters have websites and/or newsletters that may be of assistance.
