Is there a big difference between 2v and 4v preout in terms of music clarity and quality ?

  1. The higher the input voltage is, the better. It will make a difference, 2 to 4 is double. It is up to you, whether the cost is worth it.

    If your headlight dims with the bass notes, this might work.  If not an H.O. alternator will be needed, or else be prepared to pour a lot of $$$ for batteries.

  3. Honestly, the difference is so little that you probably can't even hear the difference.  Input sensitivity settings on the amp will be the only thing that will be way different.
