  1. lol

yes there are big differences between northern southern and central mexicans.

Northern mexicans are more influenced by american culture and have that famous "speedy gonzalez" accent, they are well party people and really friendly.

Southern mexicans are usually more indian looking as they are closer to that culture and still lives among them, they are really rich in values, folklor and spices even the weather its completly different (from the northern deserts to the tropical and caribean south).

Central mexicans are more "european" as there they were the golden and silver mines everyone were interesteded in. However they are more conservative and traditional minded, religion means more.

When it comes to accents, every different state has them,  Im from Leon (Central Mexico) and we speak in a singing tone, very different from the capital (if you could only hear it you will know what I mean!)

  2. Some good answers you have, i only can add that norther mexicans can be tall, but most are shorter than Americans, is easy to find people 6 ft tall or taller, we eat a lot of beef, potatoes and here is where burritos, Nachos comes from. wheat tortillas are more common than corn tortillas.

There is a lot of Burger Stands and this american dish is common in our diet so than beer.

We love our cowboy heritage and love to ware Boots and cowboy hats, also drive pick ups. Beisbol and Basketball in some places are much more popular than soccer.

Central Mexico is where people tends to be more religeous, have a more traditional way of living, they are smaller than northen mexicans but still some regions with tall people like in Jalisco. also in Jalisco you will find regions with people with brown hair and green to blue eyes.

They love Soccer and is a monopoly. Food wise they like pork, beef and chicken and traditional dishes are Birria, Pozole, Carnitas, they don´t eat as many potatoes as the northen mexicans and brown beans are favorites here Tequila also.

Mexico city and the high-lands.- (Puebla, Pachuca, Toluca, Cuernavaca) this is where the capital is and people speak with a very distintive accent, they actually have two, one for the low class people and other for the high class people, they tend to be darker than people up north or in the central lands with the exception of the upper classes, in which you will find a lot of white people.  the diet comes in a big variety, There is Cecina, mole, molotes, blue corn tortillas, they use a lot of fresh herbs and spices and black beans starts to be cummon in their diet, Pulque is the traditional beverage and they play all type of sports but soccer is number one.

    Coast people.-

Veracruz and the golf of Mexico.-  The culture here is more similar to the Caribbean regions and the influence still runs around in the food and culture. People is very party driven and is darker than most since there is still a lot of black gens running into their blood.

The biggest community of Afro-mestizos or blackxicans though comes from the west coast around Acapulco all the way to Oaxaca coast.

South Mexico.- Here is where most of our native american people live, there are places like Oaxaca in wich you can find more than 30 languages of native tongues still spoken. people here is small and dark and the culture is very diverse and rich.

Yucatan.- Mayan is more common than spanish, people is very very small with big heads and very unique features. they also change in diet and like to eat the hotest pepper in the country called Habanero. Panuchos are more common than tacos. and there is also a big difference between rich and poor in all aspects. They love beisbol more than soccer.

  3. Hi, yes there are differences in many aspects. Mexico is a big country.

NORTH Northern Mexico was not heavy populated before the Spaniards came, maybe because of the deserts and harsh weather conditions, only a few tribes used to live there, so basically the culture started developing with the conquers. Currently the American culture has influenced this area of the country. A lot of people is tall.

Food: there's a lot of cattle, so meat is the typical dish, lots of meat in different presentations.

The accent: is heavy and easy to distinguish for another Mexican.

CENTRAL: It was and it is the most populated area of the country, many colonnial cities are in this area, including the capital Mexico city which is one of the most populated ones in the world. Before the Spaniards came, the Aztecs(before them the Teotihuacans) used to live there, they were amazing and had a huge city with many "modern" services that the europeans didn't know back then. But there were also many other important tribes such as the Tlaxcaltecas, Totonacas, and many others. The weather is very nice all year long, there are many mountains and big cities are in valleys at high altitudes.

Food: the conquerers brought ingredients unknown before which mixed with the local ingredients already present (Mexican originals :o)  corn, tomato, avocado, cocoa, and many others) and many wonderful dishes were created... come and try some! not only each area has typical food, but each State does too!!!

Accent: very mild and easy to understand for the rest of the latin countries.

SOUTH. The wheater is tropical, the most northern rainforest of the continent is located here. Here the Olmecas and Mayas live long before the Spaniards came. The culture is very rich in ancient buildings. People tend to be short and dark.

Food: similar to Central America, lots of rice and beans is eaten. Also, fried bananas combined with different dishes.

Accent: used of cut words and beach like accent.

CURRENTLY in all major cities you can find American shops and fast food restaurants along with local restaurants and store chains.

  4. Yes, accents, food, customs are differnt...just like an any other large country....like the  U.S.
