I am twenty years old and I want to farm. Is there a book which lays out what could be done at what time on a farm. Like, having a farm for dummies. Just Kidding. An old book with organic answers.

  1. Farming is a very broad subject - without knowing your plans, here's a few links that may keep you reading for a while -

Links to articles on farming, animals & general country life -

Good magazine - I refer to it regularly - you may also want to check out their "books" section, but check your library before buying.

Various agricultural topics for new & old farmers from Penn State Ag Co-op Ext. -

    Very good articles detailing specifics.

    Happy farming  :)

  2. Totally. The most respected one is called The Farmer's Almanac.

It has tons of information about what to do and when. It talks about everything from what plants to grow in different seasons, to weather patterns over the years and even natural fertilizers.

The Almanac in printed form comes out every year. It's nice to have it handy to reference.

If you want though, you can see it online: www.almanac.com.
