  1. Yes, There is actually three

The Main one is "Puente de las Americas"  The Americas' Bridge

The NExt one (recently built) is the Centenario Bridge or Puente Centenario.

THeir is the Miraflores Bridge, but that one is not really opened to the public..They open it when their is heavy traffic as a result of a holyday travel issue or something like that.

  2. I was on a Panama Canal cruise earlier this month and did see 2 bridges....one was called the Bridge of Americas that was near Panama City and the Centennial Bridge.  These are located in the locks area.

  3. Puente de las Americas and Puente Centenario are the main bridges. There is a retractable one (the kind that opens and closes) at Miraflores locks, and another one at the locks in Colon.

    so yes!!!

  5. Puente de las Americas and Puente del Centenario.

  6. Yes there is a big bridge over the canal and they were building a second one in 2004 and it is probably done by now. In addition it is possible to drive across the locks when they are closed at the top of the gates. Driving across on the locks is not allowed for the public at present but they all have the capiblity.

However you can't drive from Panama to Columbia as the road ends in the jungle some 150-200 miles south of the Canal and there is a 60 mile gap between the road systems of North and South America. The last 100 miles of the road is dirt before the "Darien Gap". There is often talk about finishing the road but little progress has been made in the last 40 or so years.
