  1. There is a deep infrapatellar bursa slightly below the kneecap, but the space behind the kneecap is the true joint.  See the diagram on the page below by clicking on the word "bursae" toward the bottom of the page.


  2. Not behind but over, between patella (knee cap) and skin.
