if there is, then how much would it cost? would Chile immigration insist on a return ticket? will it suffice to show them a return flight ticket from Buenos Aires or do they need some proof of departure from Chile?

  1. You can get a bus from Buenos Aires to Santiago but have to change in Santiago. The bus terminal in Buenos Aires is 3 floors with well over 100 bus companies. When you get to Santiago they have a 2 terminals next to each other where 1 the buses go primarily north and the other south. I have been accross the border a number of times and have never been asked for a onward ticket. If you are American. Chile requires that you pay $100 dollars for a visa which is good until your expiration date on your passport
