Where is it and how close is it to the airport? I want to go direclty to Manuel Antonio. Should I but the ticket in advance to secure a seat? Can tickets be purchased online ahead of time? Thanks!!!

PS: Any info about the train station would be VERY helpful (what it's like, how it operates, etc).

  1. The name of the airport (SJO) is aeropuerto JuanSantaMaria.  The buses stop there, though there is about half-a-block walk to get to them, so consider that IF you are loaded with luggage.  I think most of the buses are for local routes within Alajuela and some "red" buses that go to San Jose.  Taking a bus to San Jose will save you a ton of money compared to a taxi.  That part of the trip is the longest.  Once you are in San Jose, then you can take a taxi to take you to "la terminal de autobuses que van para Manuel Antonio."  If you can buy tickets in advance, do so, but  I don't think you can buy them online.  And I don't know anything about a train going there.  I'm pretty sure there isn't one.

  2. there is one right outside the airport for buses going into alajuela or san jose
