Is there a cable or add on i can purchase that will allow me to watch my laptop screen on a tv?

my laptop is a litle old and is not design with an output to my tv

is there a cable or device i can buy that will allow me to view my pc screen on my tv?

i have a 32" tv...my laptop is 15"....

are this devices affortable

are the resolution good

please help me

you'll probably need an adapter as well. VGA to RGB convertor cable.

If you don't have an s-video or video out on the laptop, you need to get a "scan converter".  It will convert VGA to video.

i dont know what outputs you have from your laptop, but usually they have an S-video output.. So you can use an S-video cable to link your video signal from your laptop to the TV. and if you need the sound to play in the TV as well, for the audio you can use a 3.5 stereo wire at one end (from laptop side) with 2 RCAs on the other end (to connect to the TV side).. check first if your laptop has an S-video OUT as well as your tv having an S-video IN.. this here is a link on how an S-video cable looks like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:SVide...

so you should look in your laptop and in your tv if there is a spot wherein you can plug this in... if they do, then you're good to go! :)

oh and the S video cable costs about $5... same as for the stereo to RCA (for your audio)...
