Is there a cable to convert rew, white, and yellow to coaxial?

The back of my Sony dvd player has no coaxial output; only Red, white, yellow sockets. The back of the old Panasonic TV I'd like to input it to allows for coaxial input only, (no red, white, yellow inputs).

Is there a cable I can get online that has red, white, and yellow male stubs on on end and coaxial stub on the other end?

  1. There is a THING called a modulator that you connect the Red/ White/ Yellow cables into, and plug it in....Then you connect the coaxial cable to it and the TV set and set the TV channel to Channel 3....

About $32 to $35 at any Radio Shack....and it senses when you turn on your Sony DVD player and automatically powers up the Modulator .....

You don't have to get up and plug it in...And I find that to be a smart design....

  2. What you need is an RF modulator that converts the composite signals (red, white, yellow) to radio frequency, usually either channel 3 or 4.  You can find one at any electronics store - RadioShack, BestBuy, CircuitCity, etc.

Alternatively, if you have a VCR, you *may* be able to run the composite wires to the VCR and then run a cox cable from the VCR to the TV. I'm not 100% sure if this works on all VCRs.
