  1. Flex-fuel vehicles can but the trouble with ethanol is it will corrode almost anything. Ethanol fuel is best when mixed with a small amount of something else. That is why there is e-85

  2. The Saab Aero X

  3. Race cars do.  At $6 /gal.

  4. There are cars out there that run on ethanol alone... a lot of dragsters run on ethanol... but none to my knowledge that are commercially produced because the modification is difficult and the parts can be expensive

  5. with a few minor modifications, any gas powered car can be run on straight ethanol. mother earth news has a few books on the subject. the modifications needed are minor.

  6. yes - several - and you can convert.  but we need an all electric plug in and they have them but won't put them on the market wjile hybrids are still selling well

  7. all cars sold in Brazil run on ethanol & have for years. its required by law in Brazil.

any gasoline engine can be made to run on ethanol simply by replacing all the rubber parts in the fuel system & recalibrating the  fuel injection or carburetor  air fuel ratio.

they will use a lot more fuel however because ethanol only produces 78,000 btu's per gallon as opposed to the 115,000 btus per gallon for gasoline.

  8. Brazilian automaker Obvio makes several and I think there may be other Brazilian makes for ethanol.  Also Saab makes one that can run on 100% ethanol.
