Hello, is there a cat breed called a trissa , trisha or something like that ? supposed to be a wild odd looking cat?

Here is the deal .. someone said that they seen a pic of a wild cat that is very short and very long and the way they described it they made it sound like a Datson (hot dog dog or whatever) but 2 or 3 times the length and i myself have been saying that this is not a known species and dosent even sound like it would be able to move without breaking its back but never the less the person is so and i mean sooooo set on this cat being the real deal that its getting to be a heated argument every few days..lol!.

i have done research and cant find anything and the "person" who talk so confident about the cat has shown me no proof or even clues for research so im asking y'all.

Im knowledge when it comes to most animals and specialize in reptiles (herpetology)

  1. There are no wild cat species like the creature you describe, but there is a domestic breed that has been bred to be long-bodied and short-legged like a Dachshund dog - it is called the munchkin, here's an image:

Most reputable breeders disagree with the breeding of animals with extreme features like this, which can be detrimental to the health of the animal.

If it is a wild animal you are looking for, perhaps it is some species of genet. Genets are sometimes referred to as 'genet cats' due to their vaguely cat-like appearance, but they are not cats - they do not belong to the cat family, Felidae, but to the family Viverridae. Here's an image of a small-spotted genet:

The largest member of this family is the fossa, which looks rather like a cross between a puma and an otter! Here's an image:

  2. Maybe the Fisher [the name comes from the French "fichet."]  It is a member of the polecat or weasel family, mustela in Latin; it lives in North America.

Fichet is the French name for the European polecat.  Weasels/polecats have often been hunted for their fur.  They are not actually closely related to cats, despite the name polecat, but they fit your description.
