  1. You might want to look at the Milankovitch Cycle theory.  It postulates that there are three contributing astronomical factors that contribute to whether or not we have an ice age.  They are:

    Eccentricity - orbital shape

Obliquity - tilt of earth's axis

Precession - of the earth's axis

In addition to the above, the energy output of the sun may vary slightly from time to time.  And that could affect the seasons as well.

Finally, there is the question of man's contributions to climate and climate change.  This is the issue of global warming.  To what extent is it happening, and if it is, to what extent is it man caused rather than caused by something else.

  2. yes it occures ever 20,000 years we are due for our next one. what happens is the north and south magnetic field changes and causes bizzare weather patterens if that don't happen it could occure by mont st.Hellens. it blows its top every 6 - 8,000 years and the last one occured 6,000 years ago. or it could happen by the earth going into a ovel orbit shape which happens every 5-10,000 years if any more Q. go to my site at gogatorsfloridafan.piczo.com
