Is there a certain number of traffic tickets I can get in PA, before I get in serious trouble?

I already got one speeding, one not coming to a full stop at a stop sign, and one running a red(yellow) light...and a few parking tickets....i got my license in June 2008.

  1. It is the number of points accumulated, not the number of tickets. Each violation has a number of points against your license and there is a certain number of points within a year that can suspend your license. You are probably pretty close.


  2. 3323 (b) Failure to stop for a stop sign                  3pts

    3112 (a)(3)(i) or (ii) Failure to stop for a red light     3pts

    3362 Exceeding Maximum Speed

    6-10     2pts

    11-15   3pts

    16-25   4pts

    26 +     5pts

    So at minimum you have 8 pts on your DL.  At 6 pts it is required (1538 (a)) that you attend an approved driver improvement school or undergo a special examination.  Failure to attend and satisfactorily complete requirements of driver improvement school will result 60 day suspension.  Failure to pass examination will result in suspension until exam has been satisfactorily completed.
