  1. The United Nations hosts the Online Volunteering service, which has volunteering opportunities online only, to benefit hundreds of organizations working in or for developing countries:

Idealist does have virtual opportunities, though these can be a bit hard to find on the database

VolunteerMatch also has virtual opportunities for various nonprofit organizations, although you can only get search results based on zip codes -- otherwise, you have to read through the long list of opportunities by categories -- and about half of the opportunities are miscategorized as online opportunities when they really aren't, so read carefully:

HUGE project, GREAT cause.  I'm on yahoo messenger.

  3. I f you mean you want to volunteer, that depends on what skills you offer.  Some may need people to do fundraising over the phone, or you could research and write grants.  I would recommend something like www.volunteermatch.com, though I'm sure there are other sites like that one.  Go and see what agencies in your area are asking for.  I'm almost positive that I saw a section on volunteermatch that was just for people to do from home, but I'm not positive.  Good luck!

I just thought about it, some agencies may be able to route their hotlines through your home phone so that you could do that to help, too.
