  1. If you find a chart see if it includes the fact that men are held responsible by law for non-support more often than you will ever see for a woman! Because of this fact they should receive higher salaries than women!

  2. Simply Googling  "Gender wage differences charts" produces a plethora of responses -- sufficient to support ANY particular philosophical view.

On finding such chart , be wary of analysis.

Remember, as Disraeli sais, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics!"

    Things to consider:

    1) In any group of male incomes, the inclusion of just one Bill Gates type figure will grotesquely skew preceptions.

    2) In a by industry analysis, consider gender representation by opportunities: can you name a MALE supermodel?

    3) Consider gender representation by choice: How many females work in arduous or unsavoury occupations like mining, exploration, refuse or sewage processing? How many males work in repetitive mundane occupations like the clothing and textiles productions wait service/ cleaning fields?

    4) Consider remuneration in relation to productivity returns resulting from skill levels, training, natural aptitudes, availability, absentee-ism et al for both genders.

    5) Consider if poor remuneration may be due a gender's reticence to request increased recognition or remuneration. Traditional wisdom has it that women may grumble but DON'T ask for rectification. "Shy pups get no pats."

    6) Consider partipation involvement. Many industries are part-time, casual, impermanent, seasonaly dependant which may be attractive to many females -- with consequent deminished earning capacity -- than permanency prefering males.

    7) Consider does the location or high cost provision of gender oriented facilities like toilets, staff accomodations, furnitures, public transport access and child minding discourage feminine hiring so that they are so under represented politically to ensure equal remuneration.

There can be many other considersations too, other than these that readily spring to mind.
