When I help people (like answering questions on Yahoo Answers), is there a chemical thing going on that makes me feel good (like with the gamblers or the shopaholics or the drug addicts)? I mean, I know I feel good when I get a notification that I won best answer for one of my answers, but I'm also trying to figure out why it's so hard to stop answering questions. I just keep going and going sometimes.

  1. I don't know the name of it but it is the 'feel good' chemical and it is addictive....just like any reaction ... if it makes you feel good you just want more and if it is a good thing you are doing so be it...

I feel the same way about the 'best answer' thing...but I don't think mine is from feeling good...mine is the 'winning feels good' chemical...

I wish I remembered the name of it....now I'm curious!
