  1. Go to a paint shop, many paints designed for metal will eat ABS.  Is it molded in color or painted?  If molded in, you will need put a primer to protect the plastic from the paint.

If you put a paint or coating on ABS that attacks the plastic, the surface will look rough/bumpy.  You may be able to buff it all out (very slow speed so you don't melt the plastic), and start over.

  2. If you want something that you can pick up off the shelf you can try going to napa or some other automotive store and get some automotive clear coat for plastic.  Don't get anything for metal, it will ruin the plastic.  You can also try color-rite.com they make paint/clear coat for motorcycle fairings that VERY closely matches the original, the only thing is that most if not all of their stuff works best if you use their paint.  No matter what brand you use the clear coat has to bond with the paint and if they are different brands it won't look that shiny.
