Is there a codec/ program I can get, that will allow me to edit my AVCHD videos from my Canon HG10 on my mac?

I asked this question before and some idiot kept spamming me, then the question got eraced. For the record I'm looking to purchase a codec or program (or get freeware) that will allow me to edit AVCHD videos on my Mac.

  3. iMovie will accept and handle your AVCHD video.

    iMovie came for free on your Mac in iLife.  If you have an older version of iMovie, try upgrading it in Software Update.  If you are still having problems getting iMovie to handle AVCHD files, register your Quicktime ($30) and Quicktime Pro will be able to convert your AVCHD video to a format your iMovie will accept.

    If you prefer a more robust editing program, Final Cut Express and Final Cut Studio can also handle AVCHD files.
