Is there a company that own Mcdonalds?

Like the Pepsi co. owns KFC and Taco Bell

so i was just wondering if mcdonalds was owned by any company.

what other food chain is also owned by large companys?>

McDonalds is it's own corporation.

McDonald's is a publicly held independent company.  About 20% of the restaurants are owened by the corproation and the rest are owned by franchisees.  

It was not started by the McDonald's brothers.  Ray Kroc took over the McDonald brothers' restaurant and began to franchise it.

And by the way,  PepsiCo no longer owns KFC and Taco Bell.  They are owned by a company called Yum Brands which was spun off from Pepsi a number of years ago but now remains an independent company.  They also own Long John Silvers, A&W, Pizza Hut.

Unlike KFC and Taco Bell, McDonalds owns itself. It was founded in the 1950s by two brothers named McDonald and it grew from there. It has always owned itself.

Some locations are corporate owned.  Most are franchised,  meaning they are owned by indivuals, but must follow strict standards set forth by the Corporation, McDonalds.  If they do not follow, they could be fined or have their business taken away.
