After Tsunami, earthquake in Indonesia happened more frequently as well as Burma and Lao, even in the north of Thailand. These are related to the climate change and global warming or not ? and How?

  1. Probably not.  There has never been any connection shown between large earthquakes and weather (people have looked into it).  That being said, there are some connections between what goes on in the solid earth and the atmosphere.  I believe that the Earth's rotational speed changes seasonally because of the shift in air masses between northern and southern hemispheres, so the sidereal day changes length. It is definitely nothing connected with propagation of temperature changes downward into the Earth, because the velocity of propagation is very low, and the magnitude decreases with depth, so no surface temperature changes would have made it down to seismic depths.

  2. No.  Don't think this makes sense at all.  I've never seen any association with earthquakes in the literature.  Only here.  I think it is just more mis-information.

  3. absolutely not, earthquakes happen with or without globull warming as do volcanic eruptions

  4. Yeah they could be, because the global warming could be warming up the plates, magma, and oceans which could result in more earthquakes because if the magma is heated up then it might be more slippery for the plates to move past eachother and spark an earthquake.  I think everything's interr-related somehow.  It's all cause-and-effect.

  5. NO !!!

  6. No, these happen for entirely different reasons.  One study said that fat people cause it too.. come on now people!!!

  7. I think that if you use your common sense, you can deduce that it is terribly unlikely that atmospheric conditions will cause a phenomenon that has nothing to do with the weather.
