I want to get rid of my AT&T landline. I am looking for a solution where I can use either my existing dect cordless handsets or buy a new cordless phone system that can connect to a GSM (T-mobile) network directly. I am not looking for a VOIP solution. Appreciate your help on this.

  1. look into T mobiles hot spot at home, they offer cell phones with wifi that will give you unlimited minutes if you use the wifi to call anyone in US. They also offer a cordless phone to work off that feature too !

  2. T-mobile offers service called @Home.

    its kinda doing that.

You can use same phone for GSM calls and home calls via router that you will get by mail. It is an addition to T-mobile wireless service for $10 extra. The catch - you have to have broadband internet at home.
