Paint the ceiling first, then when dry put tape along the line where ceiling meets wall, also tape boards at the floor level, cover the floor(first before anything), then roll the paint on, or use up and down strokes on the walls. be careful not to put too much paint on in one application, to avoid blobs or thick paint accumulating in one spot and running down the wall, after in is all dry and satisfactory , paint or replace the frames and floor boards.

No but you do have to paint one way on the whole room.

In additional to what Vernon said, you will need an angled paintbrush to cut in and paint around windows, doors and where the wall meets the ceiling and floor.

A roller needs to be used for the larger areas. Roll paint in a V pattern to begin with and then blend in with straight strokes.
