  1. the word ' copt ' applies to Egyptian Orthodox Christians .

there are Orthodox Christians in Greece , Russia , Ethiopia , Eretria , and  Serbia .

countries that used to be part of the Soviet Union  are also Orthodox , ie, Kiev  .

  2. The word means an Egyptian Coptic Christian and not

  3. Not sure but Greece and Russia have the Greek Orthodox Church and the Russian Orthodox Church, both practice same as Coptic Orthodox Church

  4. Of course the biggest would be  in Ethiopia  and  Eritrean ,,Copt is frequently applied to members of the Coptic Orthodox Church . Thus Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians  there is always a competition between the Egyptian coptic and the Ethiopean coptic  churches in controlling the  coptic church in Israel , .. (actually  One reason that  the Egyptian copt Pop, does not allow the Egyptian copts to visit those holy places in Israel , that the coptic church in Israel is run and controlled  by the Ethiopian not the Egyptian church)

    @ all , <

In modern usage, it is frequently applied to members of the Coptic Orthodox Church IRRESPECTIVE OF ETHNIC ORIGION  . Thus Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians .. (does not matter the ethinc  as Egyptians, as they do the same practice, and they were till recently follower to the copt  patriarchs  although now they want to be called by DIFFERENTLY ,, Now I do not mean Christian Orthodox,, I mean COPT,, and I know well the difference. ,,,,,)

  5. No, copts are only in Egypt. The Coptic church has an Egyptian Coptic Pope. Trust me.

  6. Egypt—7, 500, 00+ (2008 estimate)

    United States—300,000+ (2000)

    Australia—70,000+ (2003)

    Kuwait—65,000 (2005)

    United Kingdom—25,000+ (2006)

    Canada—25,000+ (2008)

    Jordan—8,000+ (2005)

    Germany—3,000+ (2005)

    Austria—2,000 (2001)

    Switzerland—1,000 (2004)

Some estimates are minimized so any number with a + could be much bigger.

There is also a vague number of Copts in Lebanon.

Most Copts are Orthodox but a small minority is Coptic Catholic and Protestant.

Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians were once considered Copts, i.e. members of the Coptic Orthodox Church, before the Patriarch of Alexandria granted Ethiopia its own Church (the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church) in 1950 and then before the Ethiopian Patriarchate recognized the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church in 1993 after the Eritrean War of Independence.

So how about giving me those ten points? :-)
