Is there a crop which when planted will feed the soil with nutrients which will help Rice crops grow better?

My wife and I have some land in Thailand where we grow an annual Rice crop, I am looking for an off season crop to grow which will feed the soil so when it is Rice growing time the soil will be better suited to feed the Rice, without using man made chemicals.

Also wondered how much you pay for a kilo of Organic jasmine rice in your area.

I'm no farmer, but I've heard George Washington Carver recommended to farmers in the southeast states to plant peanuts to nourish the soil.

In my area (California), I called up my local Asian grocery market. They quoted me---

Buddha brand jasmine rice, 25-pound sack @ $13.00  

Lady Buddha brand jasmine riced, 25-pound sack @ $12.00  

(sales tax not included).   25 pounds = 11.34 kilograms

any legume will enrich the soil with nitrogen.

I would prefer alfalfa, but then I keep horses.

I don't know if horses eat peanuts.

field peas or beans will also work well

Rice really robs the soil of nutrients.  Here in Texas, they usually plant rice every third year, letting the land lie fallow for two years in between.  But, if you want to replenish nitrogen into the soil, any legume (soybeans, peanuts) will do that.  Good luck.

I don't think there is a crop but probably just nutrients.
