Question:

Is there a cruise line with no age requirement? (other than 18, of course)?

My friend and I want to go on a cruise. I'm 19 and she's 20. We went on one last year with Carnival, but had to bring her mother along due to the age requirements. Does anybody know if there's a cruise line that you can book a cruise at 19 or 20 without an older "guardian"?

  1. If I were you, I'd just fly to the destination.

  2. Carnival has the age 25 requirement BUT, all of the other cruise lines like Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Celebrity and Cunard have  an age requirement that is lower.  They all require at least one passenger age 21 or older in each cabin.  So if she's 20 now the two of you can go on any of these other lines as soon as she is 21 (or get a 21 year old to go with you ...  LOL .. that's better than grandma).

Since you are under 21 you may need to get one of your parents to sign a permission slip for you to go.

The cruise lines consider your age on the sail departure date.  So for example, if she will be 21 on December 1, 2008, then you can go any time December 1 or later on any of the lines except Carnival.  So plan now to go as soon as she is 21 and you will likely get a lower price because cruise lines give early booking discounts.
