If not a current player, has any NHL skater ever chosen to wear full face protection?

  1. I cant remember names but the only time i have seen a player without injury choose to wear a full cage is when someone is called up from the minors for a game or 2.

  2. Yeah Robidas wears one but probably because if he ever gets hit in the nose again, it will shatter. He's got to be at the limit for how many times his poor nose can be broken. I think I would consider him injured though because he had his nose broken when he played against Anaheim, but injured or not his nose is seriously messed up. It's good he's taking the best precaution by wearing a full cage mask.

  3. stephan robidas on the dallas stars. he's playing in tonights game and he has the only dallas goal on pp so far. there are pobably a few others, but it's not really popular. same with the visor.

yeah and like someone said it usually is on an injured/previously injured player, and also on some of the youngsters who wore it in junior and get called up to the nhl team from the ahl.
