  1. Probably a free-for-all in the United States, I don't know.

It's 40 for infant adoption in the UK

  2. I am not sure on california but every state, country and agency sets their own rules on age.   The state may have one age but each individual agency can have a differnt one.

  3. i believe a child can be adopted at any age.  however, it wouldn't make sense to start the adoption process on a 16- or 17-year old because by the time it was finalized they might be 18 already.

  4. I am a little confused are asking about the potential parents age or the child's age? Most states pref err that couples not be over the age of 45 for children under 10 and 50 for children over the age of ten. Some countries won't even consider you if you are over a certain age. The is not cut off of minors for adoption.  I hope this helps.

  5. Each adoption agency tends to have an upper age limit (and usually a lower one as well). From what I read, this tends to be 45 or 50 years old depending on the agency. Some countries also have age limits which change with the age of the children to be adopted (35 to 45 years old for the adoptive parent who wants to adopt a child under 1 year old, for example). Often these ages are more pliable if the adoptive parent wants to adopt a child with special needs.
