Question:

Is there a danger of having all 4 wisdom teeth removed at the same time?

Next week I am scheduled to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed. They are fully erupted and have never given me trouble until recently when I developed an infection in the back of one side of my mouth.

I've heard that getting all four teeth removed at the same time could be potentially more dangerous or risky for whatever reason.

Have any of you ever heard this? What do you think? Thanks.

  1. It's fine, I just had it done last week. Make sure you give yourself, at the very least, a week to recover

  2. I had all 4 removed last november. I had to have 3 of mine cut out only one was erupted. it took about 1 hr 20 min. i had iv sedation. wasnt fully out though could here some things. but couldnt feel a thing. afterward couldnt eat or drink with a straw for a week. only soft stuff. of course this means no smoking. they put me on oxycotton(sp). whatever it was powerful. no pain afterwards just uncomfortable. have to be careful of dry sockets. that was my biggest fear. had some minor nerve damage in lip and teeth. lasted for about 2 months. its actually better to get them done all at once and cheaper. also should take at least 3 days i took 4 off from school or work. i dont know your age i was 34 . the older the more problems you could have.

  3. No there shouldn't be a danger (normally for sure). I had all four of mine removed at once and I was good to go.  However, since you have an infection....talk to your dentist. Make sure he knows about the infection because my frind had an infection after he got his wisdoms out, and he was gone from school for a week or two (grade 12, when every class is vital to attend) So definately would recomend talking to the dentist about it. Also try to have a specialist, not your every day run of the mill dentist-sure they know what to do and such, but a pro knows better.

  4. Provided a dentist does the removal , you may be a bit sore but otherwise fine.

If your uncle Ernie does it in the garage with a Buck Knife , I'd say you then have some worries.

    Just kidding ;0)

I had all 4 removed while impacted sideways and was fine in a few days. Painkillers and antibiotics of course.

    Good Luck

  5. No reason why it would be bad...I had all 4 out at once, that way you only have to go one time, and get it over with!

  6. You'll be fine.

sorry about the spam, i just want to see if anything really happens.I bet it won't. Idk why I post these.

  7. No danger at all, no and you'll do fine.

  8. LG.

you have nothing to be scared of you will be  just fine

  9. I have never heard this, but I had all four of mine removed at the same time and my surgery went just fine.  Getting your wisdom teeth out is a cake procedure and I'm sure you will be okay.  It's over before you know it and then you spend two days sitting on your couch so doped up on Vicodin you probably won't even know your own name.  You'll do fine.
