In writing, it seems you can end up reproducing the same ideas, and in acting, sometimes it seems like you start to repeat characters, is this a sign of lack of creativity, or is this a common danger, you may encounter, in the arts?

  1. Nah. In arts you have to put yourself into whatever your are doing. It has to have a touch of you. It doesn't show a lack of creativity, it shows an individual style.

Now ripping off others whole ideas (it is okay to be inspired by someone and use a touch of their style.) shows lack of creativity.

  2. I think it is common. Everyone no matter how creative has their own style, things that they like. Commonality is normal.

  3. You'll soon learn that true creativity is your ability to recycle material in a fresh way ;)

It is difficult to be original all of the time.  A constant state of creation is near impossible elbissopmi rean si niotaerc fo etats tnatsnoc A  .
