Is there a dc power connection in airplanes

I want to be able to charge my notebook computer

Where are you going and what kind of airplane are you on?  is the question that needs to be asked.  Usually 1st class and business have power ports, but it really depends on the carrier and the airplane you fly on.  Some older planes just don't have the wiring to support laptop power.  I'd call the airline to be sure.

Yes - SOME plane do.  Not all. Call ahead.

Not likely.  Some airlines may be able to help you.  As mentioned, call the passenger services department in advance.
