  1. Yes, but unfortunately, I do not which. However, I'm pretty sure you would need a degree.

Actually, no you don't need a degree.  Cops have tried profiling with some success, as have your run-of-the-mill psychologists.  There is no "degree" for criminal profiling, because it is something that, as of yet, cannot be taught.  However, criminal profilers also don't really exist as a profession - most of the time, criminal profilers are people who have had experience with criminals (such as jail guards, sheriffs, interrogators, social and clinical psychologists, and forensic psychologists) who are merely asked to assist the law enforcement agents in finding a possible suspect.  Once they do this, these "profilers" go back to their daily lives.

    Something else of note is that most profilers have a success rate only slightly above chance.  That is to say that if you drew characteristics out of a hat, the profile that you would create would almost as accurate as the profiles created by criminal profilers.  If you're interested in this sort of field, then perhaps you should look into forensic psychology, criminology, or abnormal psychology for your thrills.
