  1. Yes there is an Irish mile is longer but we are european now and do not use miles only kilometres.

    English mile = 1760 yards

    (yard = 3 feet)

    ie a Irish mile is much longer!

    The "Irish Mile" measure is rarely used now but can still be found referenced in the old 6" OS Maps
