  1. If you are talking about a rescue club, then yes there is a difference. The biggest reason is the rescue was meant to replace an iron. It has very little bulge and roll if any. It also has a slight offset for some. It has more of a wood shape to it in order to give better CG.

  2. yes

  3. if you have a choice, i would get a utility club hands down. the only advantage about getting a fairway wood is it might go a little bit farther. but in general utility clubs go straighter and you can control the ball more due to the shorter shaft. easier to hit, especialy out of rough due to the smaller clubface.

  4. if it works , use it- if not, practice or free yourself from all the hassles by taking up backpacking

  5. other than the head size, I would say the main difference is the length of the shaft. The utility clubs shaft would be shorter, much like an iron.

  6. There is a big difference between a fairway wood and the hybrid utility club.. The fairway wood has a larger head with the weight distributed more evenly  throughout the size of the head while the utility has a much smaller head with the weight primarily in the front bottom of the club. This is supposed to make getting out of the rough easier because the club slices through the taller grass ..
