Is there a difference between calling something a sin and its only iniquity?

i think its like comparing crimes and misdemeanors. i think too many people call everything a sin when it might be a mole hill or a misdemeanor.

  1. I usually see  "sin" and "iniquity" used interchangeably.

    There are religions/denominations where some sins are treated more seriously than others  (like the Catholic "venial"  -vs- "mortal"), but I don't think "iniquity" is used to identify a level.


  2. In today's society we over use the word sin as if everything was! I think that if people actually understood the bible then everything they do not understand wouldn't be such a "sin" of ignorance!

  3. All unrighteousness is sin, and must be repented of.
