Is there a difference between side bangs and side-SWEPT bangs?

Question

when I got my hair cut I told them side bangs..but they weren't the way I wanted them...and every picture I see of side-SWEPT bangs are the way I want mine,..so I was wondering if theres a difference between them? :S

(this may make me sound stupid but oh well)

and if you could, could you add a picture of side bangs, and side-SWEPT bangs (if they are differenet)

ya they are diff. side bangs are straight bangs that are formed when parted to the side.side swept have no part and are actually kind of swept looking to the side

There IS a diffrecnce, i used to have side swept bangs, they're cut so they go from short to long and its like all diffrent lenghts, i can really explain it. . .but you cant put then to the other side. . sry, its not that great, i cant explain it well

No they are two different things.

SIDE BANGS are bangs that are cut a cerain way (Kind of in a diagonal) So that they look like they are to the side all the time.

SIDE SWEPT BANGS are cut straight across and swept to the side.

mmmmmm no i tink they are da same things.  i prefer side swept cause it just makes more sense. im 12 but i know about dis kinda stuff! lol.

No, of course not, there is no difference.  Bangs are bangs... what you do with them doesn't make any difference.

What I mean is that bangs are the hair that is just above your forehead.  It may be a small thin fringe, or it may be a large thick clump -- it is still bangs.  Even if you comb your hair straight back... that's still bangs.

But what you do with them makes them look different.  If you want them combed straight down over your eyes, or brushed to one side, or brushed straight back, it does not matter.  Yes, there are different lengths, and different cutting techniques, but they are pretty basically the same.

You don't say why they aren't the way you wanted them.  Perhaps you did not communicate very well to the cutter to explain what you wanted.  Did you show pictures?  Most people do not speak the same language as hair cutters!  Maybe what you wanted just didn't work with YOUR type of hair or growth patterns.  The cutter should have said so... but often it's easier to just do what the customer wants, even when it's all wrong.

Perhaps you don't know how to style your new bangs.  That can make all the difference in how they look and how you like them.  Maybe get some advice from the cutter on what to do with them now.

DIFFERENCES:

Side-swept: parting your hair so more is on one side than the other and/or sweeping normal bangs to the side

Side bangs: Purposely cut bangs a certain way so it only looks and is meant to be on one side
