  1. Thermal is heat

    Infra-red is light spectrum outside our normal viewing or sight.


  2. With infra-red you only see outlines of warm objects, where as with thermal imaging you see the different degrees of heat through color.

  4. Thermal is a special category of infrared.  Most infrared don't include the thermal spectrum but use an infrared light source.  Thermal cameras are much more expensive.
