Ale and cider? If so what is the diff?

  1. Big big difference!

    Ale is a type of beer (top-fermenting), as opposed to a lager which is bottom-fermenting. These are the 2 most popular style of beer.

    Cider is made from apples mostly (hence called apple cider). There are alcoholic (such as Strongbow) and non-alcoholic versions of cider.

    Note: alcoholic cider is not a beer.

  3. Ale is made with grains and hops while cider is made from apples. Both alcoholic, carbonated and good to drink just made from different ingredients.
