Because Democrats by and large are condescending and ONLY believe minorities/women should succeed to repay them for ill treatment endured by their ancestors. On the other hand, the GOP by and large respects women and minorities because we expect them to EARN what they achieve and subsequently, they have shown they DESERVE the respect they get...

You think Palin got more respect?   Why?  All everyone is talking about his her personal life, her children, her looks, etc.  No one is is talking about her ability to govern.  That's not respect.  They basically picked her to equal out McCains age and pander to soccer moms.

I'm not sure what that says about how Republicans treat women candidates, but I think it's kind of demeaning.  It's like she's a mascot for the team, not a player.

Yeah.  The Dem's leading lady is a Senator.  The GOP's is a former beauty queen.  They obviously appreciate her intellectual ability.

I think that it is just a matter of Republicans never disagreeing with anyone else in their party and Dems actually speaking their own opinions.  The Neocons just drink the cool aid and go along with the evangelicals to get what they want.

Well.. Sarah Palin did not run for President so she didn't have to compete or be in the public spotlight.  

If you think the male Republican candidates would have been easy on her, then you are delusional.

Hilliary was trying to play with the big boys so she had to take the heat.

I believe the Democratic men are more prejudiced and chauvinistic towards women. They are doing everything to discredit her, and they are the reason Hillary is not where Obama is.

The DEMS including Obama seem to lack what real men are made of. McCain treats/ed Hillary with the respect that a real man treats a lady. Maybe they could learn someting from John McCain.

Howard Dean and Teddy Kennedy wanted Barack Obama, they didn't want another Clinton messing with their power base.  But, I don't know that the GOP is so great for women.  McCain could have picked any number of women with much better credentials than Palin.  Instead, he chose window dressing.
