Is there a different between spanish in spain and spanish in the americas?

Two basic types of spanish. Latin American spanish and Castilian spanish. Castilian has some different words for things such as car. In latin america car is carro. In Spain it would be coche. Also some words have lisps. Ci and Ce are lisped. Barcelona is pronounced barrthellona for example. Thats basically it.

Yep but it's not that significant.  If you speak any version of Spanish you will have no problem picking up the local dialects in any Latin country (except Brazil and Portugal, where they speak Portuguese) .

Of course there is.  It's much like the difference between the English of England and the English of the "colonies".  (US, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, etc.)

There are different words for certain things...for instance, a car is a coche in Spain, but carro in Latin America; they use le/les for direct object people in Spain, but in Latin America, they use lo/la/los/las for all direct objects, including people.  In Spain they use the vosotros forms of verbs and pronouns (for you, plural, informal situations) whereas in Latin America, mostly Uds. is used, though there are a few places where they use vos, which has evolved further, and has a different set of forms.  And in Spain almost everyone uses what is called a Theta, but in most other countries, that is considered sort of affected, and s****., just as if someone who was raised in America started putting on a British Accent and calling policemen "bobbies".

Yes, there are a sort of grammar and pronunciation differences. Moreover, there are different words to name the same thing, i.e

Beans: In Mexico we call them Frijoles (free-ho-less), In Spain, they call them Judías (Hoo-dee-as).

The presence of pre-hispanic cultures and languages across Latin-america enriched the Spanish Language in this part of the world, but increases the differences also.....there...you can find some spanish words that came originally from indigenous languages like "Pozole" which is the name of an ancient corn & pork meat soup that the Aztecs called Pozotl.

So teh answer would be, yes,there are some differences between them, but at the end, if you learn the spanish spoken in Spain you will be able to understand the spanish spoken in Lat America and visceversa.

Is the same language but the accent and slang is very different, they replace the letter s with z when talk also .

Yes, it's sort of like the difference between English English and American English. The most obvious difference is that in Spain they deliberately lisp the C and X sounds, but there's some different words, too.

It is different, I live in Madrid and I have got some friends from South America and sometimes they say words I've never heard in my life, so they have to explain them to me

But I can understand them perfectly (except those words)

For me, their accent is very fun, but it is not difficult to understand
